What we do

Michael is as creative with code and queries as he is with how things look and feel to the end-user. He has developed several sucessful sites using PHP and MySQL as well as using FileMaker as the back-end for some solutions.

Among other strengths, we can enhance an existing site by updating the layout structure and underlying design to bring your site up to today's standards for accessibility and browser compatibility using current web technologies. We are dedicated to the adherence of structure and presentation standards set by the W3C and are familiar with the federal government's Section 508 for accessibility. In fact, we love standards.

History

9 degrees was started in early 2002 to provide unique and customized web design and development for small and medium sized businesses as well as non-profit organizations. Our experience began with developing database applications in early 1990 for a university organization.

The next several years were spent with a bar code software company(Bar Code Systems became Stratix Corporation and I was one of five people who started a new company after spinning off a division of Stratix; FineLine Technologies ), creating custom applications and incorporating graphics into client projects. Then followed consulting with a large IT firms (GE Capital, Metamor, PSINet and finally Ciber) based in the U.S. This brought experience in project management, team building, business analysis, prototype development, and a solid understanding of requirements gathering.

After the "changes" in the technology sector (surviving 4 name changes, 2 bankruptcies, 7 rounds of layoffs, and 2 acquisitions), we set out to focus on smaller projects, while providing a well-rounded set of capabilities.
